FCPS Office of Instructional Technology

Mission

The mission of the Office of Instructional Technology is to train and support teachers and staff in developing interactive and engaging learning experiences for students. To achieve this mission, we support effective models of blended learning, STEM and coding experiences, and digital literacy tools and media.

FCPS Lending Library

Check out (pun intended) the new Lending Library, housing the latest and greatest educational technology tools for FCPS classrooms.  Go to the School Support menu above for the link to Lending Library website and more information about checkout.

MyViewBoard and IFPs

Our team is so excited to share that every classroom in the district is receiving an Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) for next school year! The IFP isn’t just a replacement for a projector or a “big TV screen”, it is an engaging display that allows students to collaborate and teachers to provide an engaging experience.

One of the most exciting aspects of Viewsonic IFPs is the MyViewBoard Whiteboard app. This app allows teachers to create and share interactive lesson plans with ease. The app includes a vast library of background templates, images, and graphics that can be customized to fit any lesson plan. Teachers can also upload their own content and customize their lessons.

FCPS OIT is currently providing train-the-trainer workshops with our Elementary and Secondary DLC cohorts and providing whole faculty trainings upon request. Want to learn more? Contact your school’s STC, DLC, or visit our MyViewBoard and IFPs website.

We have created quick guides for teachers and families with links to help  with some of our platforms that can facilitate instruction and communication during NTI Weather and Remote Learning Days. Click here for those resources.
