FCPS Fantastic Start to the School Year

School is here!  This was  another exciting week in Fayette County Public Schools.  August 10th marked  the first day of school for FCPS students and families.  This year, while I rode the bus to school, I invited over 20 dignitaries to do the same.  As I boarded the bus, along with elementary students, we  were greeted by our wonderful and talented bus driver and monitor.  I had the pleasure of reading book to students on our way to school.

We arrived at Northern Elementary School where I welcomed both students and parents.  Next, I was able to visit Deep Springs Elementary School, Winburn Middle School, Bryan Station High School, Henry Clay High School, Lafayette High School, and attend our  preschool teachers and staff meeting.

Kudos to FCPS leaders, teachers, staff, cafeteria/food service workers, custodians, transportation department and others for a wonderful opening week of school!
