FCPS Launches Family University

On Saturday, FCPS launched Family University (FAM U)!  Kudos to Miranda Scully, family and community engagement coordinator, and our Equity Office for bringing this initiative to fruition.  Well over 150 families attended this wonderful event.  Please know that this event would not have been possible without the following partners: Lexington Urban League, 16th District PTA, Lexington Parks and Recreation, Lexington Public Library, and others.

I had the pleasure of facilitating the opening session with our families focused on defining student success.

Also on Saturday afternoon, I attended  the “Real Boys = Real Men Leadership Breakfast” where I addressed our students and families along with other dignitaries including principal Diaz, principal Sellers, and Mr. Tyson Gay.  Kudos to Mr. Little and others for founding this program designed to support the transition of boys to men.
