Week In Review

Another great week in Fayette County Public Schools!  This week, I had the pleasure of visiting one of our middle schools to observe two of our talented teachers implement a pilot math program.  Students were authentically engaged, utilizing critically thinking skills, and conversing using math language.  Teachers even shared formative and summative data to demonstrate student learning.

I also spent time with our students during the Hour Code held at central office.  Students showed me how they have designed video games, programmed robots, and designed a talking Nutcracker complete with a student’s voice!

Finally, I had the opportunity to visit with Principal Marsh at Sandersville Elementary School.  It was a wonderful experience learning about how Principal Marsh and his team are providing the best education possible to the students and families they serve.

We also wish Debbie and Jan farewell as they both retired this week!
