HC Boys soccer team moves on to state finals

On Wednesday, the HC boys soccer team shutout Oldham County with a 5-0 win at Bryan Station. 

During the rainy game, HC started strong with a goal by Tahj Jairam in the 6th minute, followed by another shot on goal by Jairam a minute later.

Chris Sanders scored again in the 11th minute of the game with an assist by Sota Ippongi.

Keenan Wilson then took a shot on goal from the sideline scoring the team’s third point only a minute later.

Ippongi followed this point closely and scored in the 13th minute after taking it down the center from midfield.

Oldham finally managed to fight back at HC taking their first shot on goal in the 18th minute, but it was quickly taken back by Keandre Sandoval with a goal a minute later with an assist by Shel Cundiff, HC’s fifth goal.

Oldham County and HC took two more shots on goal each during the remainder of the first half, with a goal by Gavin Dryer that was invalidated due to an offsides call.

The second half began with Oldham County pushing back hard with 2 shots on goal in the beginning minutes however HC fended the team off and caused no points to be scored.

This win puts HC in the state championship against Daviess County at 6 pm on Saturday the 2nd at Bryan Station.
