Spring is just around the corner and has been teasing us lately with lovely temperatures. Hopefully the threat of snow days is behind us, which means it’s time to start thinking about Fayette County’s Innovations for Learning (IFL) Conference! This year the conference will take place on Tuesday, June 7th at Bryan Station High School.
If you aren’t familiar with the IFL Conference, it’s our free, one-day event that promotes the use of technology as part of innovative instructional strategies that engage students to improve their learning. This is truly a “teachers” conference because we are designing our sessions with you in mind! We also hope to continue with an “administrator” strand this year with sessions specifically targeted at principals, PGES Coaches and others in school and district level leadership positions.
But in order to make this conference great, we need YOU! Every year our most popular sessions are those led by classroom teachers and administrators. Would you consider sharing how you have been using technology to improve instruction, learning and/or leading? Our Call for Presenters is currently open and we would love to have you be part of our IFL conference. (And for those who just want to come soak up lots of good information, conference registration will open in April.)
Need some help coming up with ideas to present? Let us know! We are happy to brainstorm with you. We are planning to offer both 20 minute and 45 minute sessions again this year, so you can share a quick nugget or go a little deeper. It’s up to you! The best way to come up with a topic idea? Think about what YOU would want to see or attend. That’s always a good place to start.
Please visit our *new* conference website for the Call for Presenters link and watch for information to be updated over the next few weeks. We’ve even made a quick link at http://www.fcps.net/ifl.
Let us know if you have questions and we look forward to another great conference in June!
